ReaperCon Code of Conduct and Rules

We pride ReaperCon on being a safe place, where everybody is welcome and anybody can be whomever they desire. Even so, certain kinds of offensive or harassing behavior are not tolerated. To the best of our ability, we intend to eliminate inappropriate conduct from the convention.
Harassment: It is very important that if you are being harassed or are in any way endangered, you report it immediately. We cannot address anything that we are not made aware of and we need whatever detail can be provided, such as names or other descriptive information. If you feel you have been harassed please find the nearest ReaperCon staff member or volunteer.
Violence: If, at any time, you feel that your personal safety or the safety of others is in jeopardy, please notify Convention and Hotel Staff, and contact the Denton Police Department. In an emergency via 911, or in a non-emergecy situation via (940) 349-8181.
Creep Photography: As a guest, if you see someone harassed or taking inappropriate photos (especially where the target of the photo is unaware), we encourage you to speak up and say something. As a community, we need to come together, look out for one another, and make sure everyone is treated with respect.
ReaperCon reserves the right to revoke or suspend passes. If an individual breaks the rules of the convention, he or she may be barred from the convention, either for several hours, or for the rest of the event. If an individual breaks the law – city, state or federal – he or she will be arrested. If you have been accused of harassment and feel that you were treated unfairly you may appeal to Reaper Miniatures, but that decision will be final.
You must wear your badges at all times to be admitted to any convention function. Children under 12 may only participate in games with GM’s permission and/or with an attendant guardian. Paint and Take events, when they occur, are open to attendees of all ages. This is an event at which members of the general public are admitted, and we cannot be responsible for any new vocabulary children or adults may unfortunately acquire after exposure to our guests.
Possession of alcoholic beverages by anyone under 21 years of age is grounds for expulsion from the convention without refund, and may result in criminal charges.
Possession of illegal drugs of any kind will result in expulsion from the convention without refund and may result in criminal charges. Note that recreational and medical marijuana are both illegal in Texas.
Please keep all behavior that polite fans would find offensive in public in your hotel rooms. This includes rude and offensive behavior and intoxication.
We offer sympathy, but ReaperCon is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property, or for injuries sustained during the course of the convention.
Announced events and guests are subject to change and/or cancellation without notice. Every effort will be made to announce any changes via the Internet, pre-convention publications, and our onsite program, but sometimes last-minute changes will occur.
We reserve the right to ask you to leave the convention and refuse to refund your money if you are behaving unruly. No Offsite Food is allowed in the Convention Areas of the hotel. Please be responsible with your food and beverages, and clean up your messes, especially spills, as soon as possible.
Please abide by our weapons policy: Weapons may only be brought as part of a costume, and must follow these guidelines: All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded. No functioning projectile weapons – including water pistols, silly-string guns, and pingpong pistols. Bladed weapons must be cased or sheathed and peace-bonded at all times. No clowning around or showing off in the common areas. Any weapon used in an offensive manner will be confiscated and we may contact the police. We expect you to use good judgment; with your help, we can continue to allow peace-bonded weapons - thanks!
Especially in the harsh reality of our times, ReaperCon security staff, hotel security, and local law enforcement officials will treat anything that looks like a real gun as a real gun. We do not post bail.
NO CAMPING IN THE HALLS OR LOBBY! If you are found sleeping in the public areas, you will be asked to go to your hotel room. Please do not abuse our hotels or convention facilities. This includes putting signs on walls. Public locations for notices are provided.
Cosplayers: remember that ‘no costume’ is NOT a costume, and there are public nudity and decency laws in Texas. Please wear appropriate (or at least enough) clothing in the common areas.
All ReaperCon members and attendees at the ReaperCon Convention are prohibited from taking, recording, or creating film or digital pictures, videos, tapes, sound recordings, or any other visual or auditory recreation of any kind whatsoever, of any ReaperCon guest, member, volunteer, or employee, or of any ReaperCon event, including but not limited to seminar, session, dance, or performance, for any commercial use, or for the solicitation of funds for any commercial or other purpose, without the express written permission of Reaper Miniatures.
All ReaperCon members and attendees at ReaperCon are prohibited from recording, including photography, audio and video, any and all classes and lectures.
It is against the rules of ReaperCon and the hotel to place or hand out flyers/cards in our/their space
Please help us keep ReaperCon a safe and friendly event by abiding by these rules.
