Artists' Alley

Empty Artist Alley
When our amazing teachers aren't teaching amazingly, they hang out in Artist's alley, doing their thing, and are happy to say hi.
Reaper Artists

Reaper Artists

This entry is probably here because our esteemed artists are going to be leading a panel of some sort.

I started teaching in 2014 after winning a speed painting contest at CONglomeration in my hometown of Louisville Ky and was asked to share some of the techniques I used on that piece. After teaching that first class, I learned how much I enjoyed sharing ideas with fellow gamers and artists. I started to learn as much as I could from any source I could find, not only to become a better painter, but also to be able to share even more with others. over time I became pretty OK at a great number of things. I have taught many classes at various Cons, Festivals, Fund raisers, FLGS, and local art centers. After being away from Reapercon for the last 3 years am looking for to returning this year.

Thanks to his wargaming father, Jared was first introduced to miniature painting way back in the mid-nineties. However, school, life, and other hobbies pulled him away; it was D&D that got him back into the hobby about 9 years ago. Jared loves learning more about the art and being part of such a supportive community. He appreciates (overly) intricate dioramas, humorous details in paint jobs, and immersive environmental lighting. But the best thing … looking at little painted heroes with weapons because who doesn't like imagining a good action scene!? Jared loves to talk about this hobby so don’t hesitate to reach out!

Your painted miniatures look better than mine. Let me help you show them off! You may know me as MGPhoto, often lurking in online chats with dad jokes and bad puns. I'm also a Certified Professional Photographer who enjoys helping others create images that outshine my latest attempt at NMM. A lifelong TTRPG and wargamer, my skillset lands squarely where creativity, gaming, miniature painting, and photography overlap. If you and photography aren’t on speaking terms, I can help you understand its love language.

Erin Hartwell

Erin Hartwell

Erin Hartwell (aka Corporea, aka Dr Hobbit) uses her super power of timey wimey sneakiness to balance gynecology, art, writing and gaming, and still manages to send the cats off tackling the laser pointer before bedtime. This lawful good surrealist painter is most proud of her ability to catch babies without a mitt. She is as likely to say “how about those Mets?” as “red is a fussy color requiring patience and layers,” and then mention onions, parfaits and ogres… hoping that someone will understand her random humor. She recently discovered this incredible thing called streaming television, and wonders why no one put a safety warning on it. Her latest goal is to visit every continent at least once. Two more to go- can you guess which?

A mediocre mini painter since 2005, he dedicates most of his energy to his day job of designing mechanisms and annoying the technicians that build 'em. Purveyor of the Reaperite Bingo game at ReaperCon, occasional mythical gift from Greek gods, Randomness poster, and failed Discord lurker, who is perpetually late to the Reaper streams and was voted most likely marble to die three months in a row. Good for a joke, a sly smile, and every now and then, a very clever idea.

Joe is a seasoned miniature painter specializing in fantasy realism for high tabletop gaming. Painting since 1984, inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, his work draws from classic fantasy game art. A ReaperCon veteran, he cherishes the “aha” moments of student participation. Proud of his weekly painting classes, he’s an introverted GenX artist dedicated to teaching and growing the hobby. At ReaperCon 2025, he aims to inspire new painters with his passion for bringing vivid, fantastical miniatures to life.
